To support this commitment, the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University bears overall responsibility for preventing workplace accidents and work-related illnesses, as well as for maintaining the environment around the workplace and providing facilities and infrastructure that ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable work environment by taking the following steps:
- Ensuring that policies and objectives related to occupational safety and health are established within the occupational safety and health management system and integrated into business processes
- Ensuring that the resources required for the occupational safety and health management system are available
- Developing requirements and standard operating procedures for implementing the occupational safety and health management system
- Ensuring that the importance of an effective occupational safety and health management system and compliance with occupational safety and health are communicated from the dean’s office down to departmental units
- Guiding and supporting employees to contribute to the effective implementation of the occupational safety and health management system
- Supporting management’s role in implementing the occupational safety and health management system
- Creating and developing a culture within the organization that supports the desired outcomes of the occupational safety and health management system
- Providing workers with a sense of safety and protection when reporting incidents, hazards, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensuring the organization establishes and implements processes for consultation and worker participation
