Public Lecture

(Gowa, March 12, 2015) A visiting lecture by Prof. Ir. Radianta Triatmadja, Ph.D. (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UGM) in front of faculty members and undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from the Department of Civil Engineering at Unhas, with the theme “The Role of Coastal Engineering Research in Coastal Disaster Mitigation.” The topics covered included tidal flooding, storm surges, the giant sea wall in Jakarta Bay, tsunamis, and disaster evacuation—almost all of which were analyzed using numerical modeling, characteristic methods, and tsunami run-up modeling with Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics.
