To Develop Virtual and Augmented Reality-Based Learning Materials, FTUH Collaborates with FKG UNHAS
In keeping with trends in educational technology, FTUH has developed Virtual Augmented Reality (VAR)-based instructional materials. In developing this VAR-based instructional materials prototype, the development team—led by Dr. M. Anshar, an electrical engineering lecturer at FTUH—is currently developing instructional materials for dentistry courses. For the development of this instructional material, Dr. Anshar and his team are collaborating with faculty members and students from the UNHAS School of Dentistry. The School of Dentistry’s teaching faculty team is led by Prof. M. Ruslin, who also serves as UNHAS’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.
The Dean of FTUH, accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs & Student Affairs, the Vice Dean for Research, Innovation & Partnerships at FTUH, and the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at FTUH, joined the UNHAS Vice Rector for Academic Affairs & Student Affairs in monitoring and evaluating the progress of this collaborative project between the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at UNHAS to develop VAR-based learning technology. During their visit to the CoT Building, 1st Floor, on the FTUH campus on Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2023, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs at UNHAS and the Dean of FTUH demonstrated the use of this learning technology, which has already reached 70% completion.
The prototype of this learning material technology will eventually be applied to the education of FKG graduate students. It is also hoped that this learning technology can be developed and used in various study programs at UNHAS.
