UNHAS Faculty of Engineering Signs a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Welding Hub Indonesia
Gowa, January 28, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT UNHAS) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with PT Welding Hub Indonesia to strengthen training, seminars, and welding competency certification.
The signing ceremony took place at the Vale Eksekutif Insinyur Co-Working Space in the Engineers Building on the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering campus in Bontomarannu, Gowa Regency, and was signed by the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., IPM., AER, and the Director of PT Welding Hub Indonesia, Fazal Sattu, ST., IWE, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
This collaboration aims to improve the quality of human resources, particularly students of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, through synergy between academia and industry. The collaboration program includes the organization of short courses, seminars led by industry practitioners, and welding competency certification tailored to the needs of the workforce.
This MoA and PKS involve several study programs within the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, including Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Marine Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. Students are expected to gain enhanced practical skills, hands-on experience, and recognition of their competencies through professional certification.
The Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Muhammad Isran Ramli, emphasized that this collaboration is part of the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while also bridging the needs of the university and the industrial sector. “We are promoting this collaboration so that students are not only academically strong but also possess applied competencies and certifications recognized by the industry,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of PT Welding Hub Indonesia, Fazal Sattu, expressed his company’s readiness to support competency development by providing professional instructors, training facilities and equipment, as well as certification support in accordance with welding industry standards.
This cooperation agreement is valid for three (3) years and may be extended by mutual agreement. Through this collaboration, the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering and PT Welding Hub Indonesia are expected to create a learning ecosystem that is practical, adaptive, and aligned with the needs of the national industry.
