Unhas Faculty of Engineering Signs Contract for English-Language Classes in the Final Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year
The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University held a signing ceremony for the contract to implement English-language classes for the final semester of the 2025/2026 academic year on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Dean Hall in the CoT Building of the Faculty of Engineering.
This event was a follow-up to Letter No. 05438/UN4.1.13/HK.07/2026 regarding the Invitation to Sign the Contract for the Implementation of English-Language Classes. The contract signing took place between the faculty leadership and the instructors responsible for the courses designated as English-language classes.
A total of 20 courses from various study programs within the Faculty of Engineering were designated as English-Language Courses for the final semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. This program includes courses from the following study programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mining Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Regional and Urban Planning, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Ocean Engineering.
The contract specifies that instruction will take place over one semester, running from February 13 to June 27, 2026. The instructors in charge are required to prepare an English-language Semester Learning Plan (RPS), prepare and upload course materials to the Sikola 2.0 platform, develop learning assessments in English, and involve foreign instructors for at least two class sessions. In addition, faculty members are also required to compile a course portfolio and present the Implementation Agreement document with the international partner.
Muhammad Isran Ramli, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, emphasized in his remarks that the English-language class program is part of the faculty’s internationalization strategy.
He explained that the implementation of English-language classes is not only intended to improve students’ language proficiency but also serves as one of the Faculty of Engineering’s efforts to build and expand its network of cooperation with international partners. Through collaboration with foreign instructors and the use of English in the learning process, it is hoped that broader opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education, research, and academic exchange will be created.
Furthermore, the Dean expressed his hope that all faculty members in charge would carry out this mandate professionally and consistently, thereby further improving the quality of learning and strengthening the global competitiveness of the Faculty of Engineering’s graduates.
Through the signing of this contract, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic quality, the internationalization of the curriculum, and the sustainable development of global collaborative networks.
