Unhas Faculty of Medicine Holds Simultaneous Blood Drives Across Indonesia

As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Unhas held simultaneous mass blood drives in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. The event took place on Saturday (Oct. 17), starting at 8:00 a.m. WITA.

In Sulawesi, the blood drive was held in the Hall of the Center of Technology (CoT) Building on the Unhas Faculty of Engineering campus, located on Jl. Poros Malino, Sungguminasa, with health protocols in place.

This event was open to all alumni and members of the academic community of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Arsyad Thaha, M.T., Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, was present to observe the blood drive. He expressed his appreciation for the support of the Faculty of Engineering alumni, who participated simultaneously from various regions.

The Chair of the Organizing Committee for the 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas (Dr. Eng. Ihsan Latief, S.T., M.T.), along with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships (Ir. Mukti Ali, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.) and the Associate Dean for Finance and Development (Dr. Eng. Muhammad Rusman, S.T., M.T.), participated in the blood drive alongside the anniversary committee, the academic community, and students of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering.

Mukti Ali explained that this event was organized in collaboration with and with the support of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) South Sulawesi Provincial Blood Donation Unit.

“We hope this event can help our brothers and sisters who need blood during this pandemic,” said Mukti.

In addition to the blood drive, the Faculty of Engineering held several activities to celebrate its 60th anniversary, including both academic events and community service initiatives.
