USAID Director Monitors Progress on Operational Readiness of the Maker Innovation Space.
Jeffery P. Cohen, USAID Indonesia Mission Director, visited the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University. The purpose of the visit was to observe the progress of the Unhas Maker Innovation Space, which is jointly managed with HEPI (Higher Education Partnership Initiative), on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Exhibition Hall in the CoT Building of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University.
The event was opened by the Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., along with the associate deans. The event was also attended by the USAID and HEPI teams, the Chair and Secretary of GPMPR, department chairs, the Secretary of Student Affairs, managers, heads of subdivisions and divisions of administration, and students.
In his remarks, Prof. Jj expressed his hope that with the establishment of the Maker Innovation Space, we can work together to strengthen technology and jointly shape the future here.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Isran, welcomed the USAID delegation to the Faculty of Engineering and expressed gratitude for USAID’s assistance and cooperation in the construction of this Maker Innovation Space. On this occasion, Prof. Isran also stated that the Faculty of Engineering fully supports HEPI and USAID, particularly in the construction of this Maker Innovation Space.
The Maker Innovation Space is a collaborative project between Hasanuddin University and USAID HEPI to provide a multifunctional space designed to support the process of creating innovations, equipped with various facilities and tools for prototyping.
In his remarks, Jeffery P. Cohen stated that USAID consistently supports and facilitates Indonesian youth in continuing to create and innovate. USAID also aims to contribute to preparing Indonesia’s future leaders to embrace Indonesia Emas 2045.
