Vision and Mission of the MPWK Masters Study Program (MPWK)

  • Vision

In detail the PS-MPWK specifications are reflected in the vision, mission, goals, objectives, and curriculum, in the domain of regional and urban planning which specifically has a maritime tropical perspective which refers to the Unhas Vision, Postgraduate Program, Faculty of Engineering, and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, as follows:

  1. Unhas' vision is "The center of excellence in human development, science, technology, arts and culture based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent";
  2. The vision of the Unhas Postgraduate Program is "To become a postgraduate educational institution with a culture of quality with graduates and research results that are always relevant nationally and internationally";
  3. The vision of the Faculty of Engineering is “To become a center of excellence in the field of engineering for global sustainability with the spirit of maritime culture”;
  4. The vision of the Department of Regional and Urban Planning is "To become an institution that manages education, research and community service in the field of regional and city development that excels with the contents of the Indonesian Maritime Continent (BMI)"; In relation to the hierarchy of visions, PS-MPWK has a vision by 2030 to be:

  • Misi 

Misi PS-MPWK diwujudkan dengan melaksanakan misi berikut:

  1. Memenuhi kebutuhan cendekiawan Magister Teknik yang bermartabat dalam bidang perencanaan wilayah dan kota, melalui penyelenggaraan pendidikan Labo Based Education (LBE);
  2. Menghasilkan inovasi ilmiah yang berwawasan tropis maritim berdasarkan penelitian para sivitas akademika dan mitra kerjanya;
  3. PS-MPWK juga berfungsi sebagai inkubator dalam usaha penyelesaian berbagai masalah kemanusiaan dan lingkungan dalam ranah IPTEKSB perencanaan wilayah dan kota.
  • Purpose

In carrying out the three missions mentioned above, lecturers and students conduct research whose homebase activities are centered on various laboratories in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning FT-Unhas.

PS-MPWK is a master's degree in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, which aims to:

  • Produces Masters who:
  1. Competent as an innovator of IPTEKSB regional and urban planning.
  2. Caring and responsive through the domain of urban and regional planning, and to human and environmental issues.
  3. Produce competent graduates in the science and technology of regional and urban planning who will be able to have careers as researchers, lecturers, planners, professionals, and policy makers in ministries and institutions of the Central Government and Regional Governments based on their research capabilities.

Based on the cumulative capacity of competent lecturers to guide master's students, 4 professors, and 7 Doctorates in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) Unhas, as well as lecturers who are still studying to complete doctoral education, the Masters Graduates produced by PS-MPWK start on the third year of the implementation of this program a minimum of 10 people every year;

  • Produce useful research for:
  1. The development of science and technology in the field of regional and urban planning in general, as well as particularly those with a maritime perspective on the equatorial belt, including the Indonesian Maritime Continent (BMI);
  2. Development of models, norms, standards, guidelines and criteria for problem solving as well as developing regional and urban planning arrangements.
  3. Prepare a plan for the application of research results for public service programs with two and one strata study programs, Research and Community Service Institutes, as well as other relevant institutions.
  • Target

In achieving the PMPWK vision and mission, the study program targets are planned as follows:

  1. Phase I (2019-2022): Development of the identity of PMPWK and the quality of education and research in the field of PWK with an insight into the Indonesian maritime continent (BMI)
  2. Phase II (2023-2026): Development of PMPWK identity and quality of education and research implementation in the field of PWK with Indonesian maritime continent perspective (BMI)
  3. Phase III (2027-2030): Strengthening the identity of PMPWK and the quality of education and research in the field of PWK with an insight into the Indonesian maritime continent (BMI)
  4. Phase IV (2031-2034): Become a national reference and quality of education and research in the field of PWK with an insight into the Indonesian maritime continent (BMI)
  5. Phase V (2035-2038): Become a reference for Southeast Asia and the quality of education and research in the field of PWK with an insight into the Indonesian maritime continent (BMI)
  6. Stage VI (2039-2041): Become a global reference and the quality of education and research in the field of PWK with an insight into the Indonesian maritime continent (BMI)
