History

The Urban and Regional Planning Study Program (PWK) Faculty of Engineering Unhas was formed in 2004 under the Department of Architecture. With all the support from existing resources, currently the PWK Study Program has succeeded in getting the "A" Accreditation title from BAN-PT based on SK No. 139/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S1/IV/2015 dated April 6, 2015 to April 6, 2020. From the mechanism for implementing various Tri Dharma Higher Education programs and activities, the PWK Study Program together with the Architecture Study Program (under the Department of Architecture) have received a certificate. ISO 9001:2008 is specialized in the field of education management. This achievement was achieved thanks to the support and commitment from the entire academic community of the PWK Study Program.

Some strategic problems that need priority solutions in the PWK study program include: although the average student social studies is high (> 3.0), the PWK study curriculum has not fully answered the demands for outcomes for study programs graduates according to the KKNI, so evaluation is needed, including to increase study program accreditation. at the AUN level; learning methods have not been formulated based on the learning outcomes of subjects supported by various scientific libraries, although textbooks are available but the teaching modules for each subject have not been compiled; still low mastery of student science and technology as seen in the average TOEFL achievement of a competitive graduate profile; still not integrated the themes of laboratory research with the research roadmap so that it does not produce superior research; not yet optimal application of research/planning results through PkM activities involving stakeholders; not yet optimally reputable international publications by educators and students; not optimal academic/HR database that can facilitate information on PWK study programs. These problems need to be formulated so that in the future we can determine various strategies that are efficient and effective in solving them, through optimizing the empowerment of various study programs resources, both lecturers, employees, students, infrastructure, and existing facilities.

The initial accreditation of the PWK Study Program in 2009 was obtained from BAN-PT with the title "B" Accreditation under the leadership of the Head of the Study Program, Prof. Ir Bambang Heryanto, MSc PhD until 2011. At that time the PWK study program implemented a Student Center Learning-based curriculum. Furthermore, in 2010 the PWK Study Program developed a Labo-Base Education (LBE) learning approach in accordance with the 2010 Unhas Faculty of Engineering development strategy. Since 2011, the PWK Study Program has implemented a competency-based curriculum (KBK) through a Labo Based Education (LBE) learning approach. Therefore, the 2011 curriculum is called the 2011 KBK-LBE Curriculum.

In 2012, the PWK Study Program was led by Dr. Ir. Arifuddin, M.T. At this time, the mechanism for managing the tri dharma activities of the PWK Study Program is being developed in line with various policies, both new policies at the ministry level (Dikti) such as the application of BOPTN funds for the development of Study Programs, as well as policies at the university level. The development of study programs is especially evident with the start of the process of moving study program management from the Tamalanrea Campus to the Gowa Engineering Campus. The development of learning in this period was marked by the implementation of a minor evaluation of the study program curriculum in 2012 with the main substance of the discussion on the course syllabus followed by the preparation of the GBRP. In 2013, a review of the curriculum was again carried out with discussion material on the clarity of specific substances in Core Courses (Studio 1 to Studio 6, as well as research/planning LBE).

Since 2013 until now, various programs of study program capacity development activities have been funded from BOPTN funds, with several activities carried out including: preparation of 15 MK Textbooks, preparation of Roadmaps for PWK Study Programs and Leading Research, Improvement of international publications, and revisions IQF standard-based curriculum. One of the honorable titles obtained by the study program in 2014 was the increase in the accreditation of the PWK study program to "A". This is the result of hard work carried out by the entire academic community of PWK Study Program. Furthermore, this year (2015) curriculum evaluation activities were programmed again through a study program capacity building program funded from the 2015 BOPTN funds. The curriculum compiled in 2016 is called the Higher Education Curriculum (KPT-2016) which will be implemented in 2016. Curriculum evaluation this time it is classified as a total evaluation, so that the results of the preparation of the curriculum from the 2011 KBK-LBE curriculum to the 2016 KPT curriculum will undergo several changes and thus an equalization mechanism will be carried out during its implementation in the 2016 school year.

The new KPT-2016 curriculum is a new curriculum that is expected to fulfill several important and popular substances such as those developed at several universities in Indonesia, especially planning schools.
