Vision, Mission, Goal and Objectives

Vision

To become a center of excellence in the fields of education, research and application of information technology utilizing computer networks and intelligent systems based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent.

Mission

  1. Produce graduates who have good attitudes and values, have general skills, special skills and knowledge in the field of Informatics and computers and are able to apply their knowledge and skills independently, creatively and innovatively in following technological developments.
  2. Produce scientific works in the field of information technology based on computer networks and intelligent systems based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent, which are published both nationally and internationally.
  3. Disseminate useful technology for the community that supports improving the quality of life of the community.
  4. Establish and strengthen cooperation with related institutions, both nationally and internationally to support improving the quality of relevance in teaching, research and graduate competencies.

Goals

  1. Availability of human resources in the field of informatics who have the ability to compete for jobs or create jobs independently and creatively.
  2. The creation of an academic atmosphere that supports increasing knowledge in the field of Information Technology, especially in the field of computer network-based technology and intelligent systems based on the Indonesian Maritime Continent.

2016 KPT Graduate Profile

IT Developer

An IT Developer develops IT based solutions for any real-life problem in the society, either by focusing on a specific program or application, creating a framework for software development or underlying systems that help trigger and power other programs. This profile requires a deeper knowledge in Software Engineering methods and processes.

 
IT Consultant

An IT Consultant is a technical specialist that focuses on integrating information technology into businesses and showing clients how to use IT more efficiently to help reach objectives and targets. This profile requires a deeper understanding on the basic subjects, such as Information systems. It is also benefited from a wider knowledge of IT processes and how all the components of the IT system are interconnected.

 
IT Academician

Academics in the Computer Science/informatics field who will focus themselves to be lecturer or researcher in various higher education and research institutions. Along with a wider knowledge of basics of IT, such as algorithms, data structures, basic of logic and discrete math, this profile also needs the softskill such as interpersonal communication.

2021 KPT Graduate Profile

IT Professional - ITP

IT professionals are workers in the IT profession. These professionals can pursue careers in specific organizations or companies, or can work as freelancers to impart their expertise. This profession has the knowledge and ability to design IT systems, both in terms of software and hardware, as well as in the form of management and policies. Furthermore, being able to implement and develop IT systems, perform maintenance and system security. This profession requires basic knowledge such as Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Computer Security, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things, Information systems analysis and design. Some examples of professions in this regard are Software Programmers, Network Administrators, Graphic Designers, Database Administrators and others.

IT Entrepreneur - ITE

Is an independent business builder by utilizing creativity and innovation, especially in the use of IT technology (Technopreneurship). An entrepreneur identifies and evaluates market opportunities, finds solutions to fill those market opportunities, acquires the necessary resources (money, people, and equipment) to run a business, manages resources from the start-up stage to the survival phase. and the development (expansion) phase, managing the risks associated with its business. Some examples of business fields in this profile are Software House and other Start-Up businesses.

IT Advance Learner - ITL

Are individuals who have the interest and ability to continue their learning process to an advanced stage, either formally (through formal educational institutions, for example through a Master's program) or informally, such as taking a special education in a particular industry field as evidenced by industry certificate. The purpose of continuing this educational process can be motivated by a desire to improve a work career, or a desire to have a career in academics and research, or simply to satisfy personal curiosity. In addition to requiring basic knowledge of the IT field, it requires the ability to search, filter and process information, as well as the ability to submit and write research reports in a formal academic manner.

Program Learning Outcome (PLO)

The Bachelor Degree Programme of Informatics aims to provide graduates with the following qualities:

Intended Learning Outcomes of 2016 KPT Graduates

To support the achievement of PLO, the institution prepares Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL). The CPL lists all the attitudes, knowledge/understandings, skills and competencies expected of graduates upon successful completion of the degree program.

  1. Has basic knowledge of Computing Science which includes basic theories and concepts of computer science, Mathematics and Statistics, Programming Algorithms, Software Engineering and Information Systems.
  2. Have knowledge of advanced topics in the specialized field of Informatics either Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Networking, Cloud Computing, or Internet of Things.
  3. Apply knowledge of computing and other related disciplines to analyze and identify solutions to any computing-based problems.
    Design, implement, and evaluate computing-based solutions to meet a specific set of computing requirements by applying computer science theory and software development fundamentals.
  4. Complete tasks within their professional responsibilities based on legal and ethical principles.
  5. Perform effectively in a team, either as a member or as a leader, in activities related to program disciplines.
  6. Communicate their ideas in a convincing and effective manner, both in writing and orally, to propose solutions.
  7. Acknowledge the differing points of view of others covering original beliefs, cultures, ideas and discoveries.

Intended Learning Outcomes of 2021 KPT Graduates

  1. Have a basic knowledge of Informatics Engineering which includes basic theories and concepts from Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Algorithms and Programming, Software Engineering, Information Management and Digital Resilience, as well as advanced knowledge in specific fields of Informatics Engineering, such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Networking, Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things.
  2. Have basic entrepreneurial knowledge, knowledge of the basics of using technology and knowledge of web-based system development.
  3. Able to apply knowledge in the field of Informatics Engineering combined with other fields of science to analyze and find solutions to various computing-based problems.
  4. Able to design, implement and evaluate computing-based solutions by applying the knowledge of Informatics Engineering and the basics of software development.
  5. Able to complete tasks within professional responsibilities by upholding legal and ethical principles.
  6. Able to work effectively in a team, either as a leader or a member, on various activities related to professional responsibilities.
  7. Able to carry out logical and systematic procedures to solve a problem and then communicate ideas convincingly and effectively both orally and in writing to offer a solution.
  8. Recognizing the dynamic nature of the development of Information Technology and respecting differences in viewpoints, both in terms of beliefs, culture, ideas and personal creations.
