Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Marine Engineering Programs Across Indonesia
#ftuhNews-02122022: The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, ST., MT., opened the Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Marine Engineering Study Programs throughout Indonesia. This annual meeting was attended by five members of the Consortium of Marine Engineering Study Programs in Indonesia, namely the Marine Engineering Programs Marine Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA), the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), and UNHAS, with the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering’s Marine Engineering Program serving as the host for the 2022 Annual Meeting. In his opening remarks, the Head of the Department of Marine Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, Dr. Chairul Paotonang, stated that the UNHAS Marine Engineering Program hopes to achieve IABEE international accreditation by 2023, thereby positioning itself to become a center for marine engineering education in Eastern Indonesia. The Chair of the Consortium of Marine Engineering Study Programs throughout Indonesia, Herman Pratikno, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from the ITS Marine Engineering Program, noted in his remarks that this year’s Consortium Annual Meeting, themed “Synergy Toward the Glory of Indonesian Marine Engineering,” was intended to foster greater collaboration among Marine Engineering programs across Indonesia to support the development of maritime infrastructure in the country. In his remarks, the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Isran, noted that the existence and capacity enhancement of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering’s Marine Engineering Program align with the Faculty’s commitment and vision to become a Center of Excellence in Engineering based on Indonesia’s maritime continent. The Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Marine Engineering Study Programs throughout Indonesia was held at the Faculty of Engineering campus from December 2–4, 2022. @Dean’s Office Meeting Room, Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, Gowa.
