Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering Affirms Full Support for the TOBARANIA Team Ahead of the 2026 National KRAI

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER, invited the TOBARANIA Team to a special meeting to discuss various needs and preparations ahead of their participation in the 2026 ABU Indonesia National Robotics Contest (KRAI). The meeting demonstrated the faculty leadership’s commitment to supporting high-achieving students who will represent Hasanuddin University at the national level.

During the meeting, the Dean, accompanied by faculty leadership, engaged in direct dialogue with team members regarding technical readiness, funding needs, component procurement, and logistical support throughout the competition, which will take place at Jember University.

Prof. Isran Ramli emphasized that the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering provides full support to the TOBARANIA Team so they can perform at their best at the national level. He also directed the Associate Deans to ensure all the team’s needs are met in accordance with the faculty’s capabilities and established procedures.

“The achievements of the TOBARANIA Team, including qualifying for the national level, are a source of pride for the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. I ask the entire administration, particularly the Associate Deans, to make every effort to facilitate the team’s needs so they can focus on preparing themselves and deliver their best performance at KRAI 2026,” stated Prof. Isran Ramli.

During the meeting, the TOBARANIA Team also presented updates on the robots currently being refined for the competition. In line with the competition’s theme, “Kung Fu Quest”, the team is developing two robots with distinct roles that are integrated to complete the mission.

The first robot (R1) is manually controlled and tasked with assembling weapons, retrieving Kung Fu Scrolls (KFS) in the Meihua Forest area, and placing the scrolls on the bottom row of the Tic-Tac-Toe rack. Meanwhile, the second robot (R2) is designed to operate autonomously to assist with the assembly process, retrieve KFS from the game area, determine its movement path independently, and place the KFS on the middle and top rows of the Tic-Tac-Toe rack.

The innovation of these two robots combines manual control capabilities with autonomous intelligence, enabling them to work collaboratively to solve the challenges presented at the KRAI arena. Development of the mechanical, electronic, and programming systems continues to ensure optimal robot performance during national-level competitions.

TOBARANIA Team Leader, Hamdika, expressed his appreciation for the attention and support provided by the leadership of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. According to him, the meeting with the Dean served as a source of motivation for all team members to further solidify their preparations.

“We are deeply grateful for the full support from the Dean and the entire leadership of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University. The guidance and assistance provided—especially in meeting our competition preparation needs—have encouraged us to continue refining our robots and strive to deliver the best results at the national level,” said Hamdika.

With institutional support and the hard work of all team members, TOBARANIA aims to perform competitively at the 2026 ABU Indonesia National Robotics Contest while bringing honor to the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University through innovation and achievements in the field of robotics.
