Featuring Speakers from Five Countries, Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Engineering Hosts “The 6th International Symposium on Infrastructure Development (ISID) 2023”
The 6th International Symposium on Infrastructure Development was held again on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the CSA Building, LT1, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University. The event was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at Hasanuddin University and chaired by Dr. Eng. Fakhruddin, S.T., M.Eng.
The event began at 8:30 a.m. with opening remarks by the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., followed by the opening remarks by the Rector of UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., represented by the Director of Partnerships at UNHAS, Anshariadi, S.Km., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Hasanuddin University organized ISID-6 in collaboration with Saga University in Japan, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, the University of Indonesia, the PLN Institute of Technology, Toraja Indonesian Christian University, and Khairun University in Ternate. In addition to collaborating with various universities, ISID-6 was also supported by numerous partners, including PT Bumi Karsa, PT Adhi Karya, Tbk. (Persero), PT Adimix PCI Indonesia, PT Yodya Karya (Persero), PT Wijaya Karya (Persero), PT Bumi Mineral Sulawesi, Tbk., and the Housing Provision Implementation Agency.
The main agenda of this event consists of a plenary session and presentations by speakers from five countries: Assoc. Prof. Mishima Yuichiro from Saga University in Japan, Assoc. Prof. Azman bin Mohamed from the University of Technology Malaysia, Andi Asiz, Ph.D., P.Eng., from Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Eng. Rita Irmawaty from Hasanuddin University, Dr. Pornpen Limpainlachat from Mahidol University in Thailand, and Dr. Nahry from the University of Indonesia. This was followed by parallel sessions, featuring the presentation of 99 papers from 7 countries (Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, China, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia).
The chair of the ISID-6 organizing committee, Dr. Eng. Fakhruddin, S.T., M.Eng., stated in his opening remarks that this seminar was organized as an expression of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS—particularly the Department of Civil Engineering—commitment to the establishment and development of aspects related to sustainable development for infrastructure and the environment. In his remarks, Dr. Eng. Fakhruddin, S.T., M.Eng., also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved. It is hoped that this event will be successful and provide benefits to all stakeholders and the world at large.
