The Leadership and Academic Community of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University Congratulate the Rector of Hasanuddin University on Receiving the 2023 Sarwono Award and Delivering the 2023 Sarwono Memorial Lecture.

The Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., received the Sarwono Award and delivered the Sarwono Memorial Lecture on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Sumitro Djojohadikusumo Auditorium, Bj Habibie Building, Central Jakarta.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng, of Hasanuddin University, on behalf of the entire academic community, extended his warmest congratulations and highest appreciation for the award received by Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc.

The Sarwono Award is a scientific event organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to recognize “lifetime achievement” among individuals who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments and contributions in the fields of science and technology, and whose research has had a significant impact on society—whether through intellectual property (IP) or other forms of research conducted in collaboration with partners.

The Sarwono Prawirohardjo Memorial Lecture is an academic event in the form of a scientific address delivered by an individual who has made significant contributions to discovery, development, and dissemination in the fields of science and technology, as well as contributions to Indonesian society and the nation.

The use of the name “Sarwono” is intended to honor the service and dedication of Prof. Dr. Sarwono Prawirohardjo (the first Head of LIPI) in building Indonesian science. Since 2001, the Sarwono Prawirohardjo Memorial Lecture has been held annually, and since 2002, the Sarwono Memorial Award has been presented to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in science, culture, and humanitarianism.
