The Engineering Career Center (ECC) at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Hasanuddin, and PaxOcean Host a Campus Hiring Event to Accelerate Graduate Employment

Makassar, September 2–3, 2025 – The Engineering Career Center (ECC) of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT Unhas), in collaboration with PT Dok Warisan Pertama (PaxOcean), a shipbuilding company in Batam, Riau Islands, is hosting a campus hiring event and job fair for FT Unhas graduates.

This initiative is a strategic step toward accelerating the transition of FT Unhas graduates into the professional workforce, particularly in fields relevant to their academic disciplines. Through this partnership, PaxOcean is offering career opportunities via its Graduate Trainee (GT) program, designed for graduates of the Department of Naval Architecture and the Department of Marine Systems Engineering.

The selection process took place over two days at the FT Unhas campus. On the first day (September 2, 2025), a written exam was administered to 31 participants, resulting in the selection of the top 14 candidates who advanced to the interview stage on the second day (September 3, 2025).

Prof. Dr. Ir. Andi Haris Muhammad, ST, MT., Head of the ECC at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, emphasized that this initiative is part of the ECC’s commitment to serving as a bridge between graduates and the industry. “Through partnerships with strategic companies like PaxOcean, we hope that Unhas Faculty of Engineering graduates can enter the workforce more quickly while applying their academic competencies in relevant professional fields,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, emphasized the importance of this synergy as a concrete effort by the university to prepare graduates who are ready to compete in the professional world. “We are promoting this campus hiring initiative as one of the tools to accelerate the employment of FT Unhas graduates so they can immediately contribute in their respective engineering fields. This is a concrete manifestation of our commitment to bridging the academic and industrial worlds, as well as a tangible implementation of the ‘Impactful Campus’ program that we continue to champion at the Faculty of Engineering, Unhas,” he asserted.

Through this initiative, the Unhas Faculty of Engineering is further demonstrating its active role in supporting national industrial development by providing outstanding and professional engineering talent.
