Unhas’s Faculty of Engineering Conferred Degrees on 359 Graduates at the September 2025 Commencement Ceremony
Makassar, September 2, 2025 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FTUH) held a graduation ceremony for the September 2025 graduating class at the Unhas Hotel & Convention Ballroom. The event proceeded in a solemn atmosphere and was attended by faculty leadership, senate members, department and program chairs, as well as the graduates’ families.
The series of activities began at 12:00 p.m. WITA with participant registration, followed by the opening ceremony, the singing of the national anthem, and a joint prayer. The event then proceeded to a report by the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Amil Ahmad Ilham, S.T., M.IT., who presented the academic achievements of this period.
Next, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., delivered a speech. In his message, the Dean emphasized that graduation is not an end, but rather the beginning of a new responsibility as engineering professionals. He urged all graduates to make the MARANNU values (Respectful, Wise & Prudent, Responsive, Attentive, Principled, Comfortable, and Excellent) their guiding identity in their professional endeavors. “Uphold the good name of our beloved alma mater through your work, ethics, and morals. Continue to be lifelong learners,” he emphasized.
The event continued with remarks delivered on behalf of the university by Ir. Dedy Irfan, S.T., followed by the announcement of the top graduates at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. The top graduates for this period were students from the Bachelor of Architecture program (GPA 3.99, duration of study 3 years and 11 months), the Master of Computer Science program (GPA 3.93, duration of study 1 year and 6 months), and the Doctor of Architectural Science program (GPA 4.00, duration of study 2 years and 6 months).
The graduation ceremony was made even more memorable as the heads of each department read out the names of all graduates, accompanied by the presentation of alumni medals.
To conclude the series of events, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., provided information regarding the alumni tracer study and the endowment fund. The highlight and conclusion of the event was marked by the Dean of FTUH presenting the list of graduates’ names to Ir. Dedy Irfan, S.T., who represented the Chairperson of IKATEK Unhas, in the presence of all attendees.
In total, 359 graduates were officially honored during this ceremony, comprising 172 bachelor’s degree holders, 57 master’s degree holders, 13 doctoral degree holders, and 18 licensed architects. Of this number, more than 56% of bachelor’s degree graduates and nearly all master’s and doctoral degree graduates achieved a GPA above 3.5.
This graduation ceremony serves as a testament to the commitment of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering to producing outstanding graduates who are ready to make tangible contributions to society, the nation, and humanity, while always upholding the good name of their beloved alma mater.
