The Executive Board of the Hasanuddin University Industrial Engineering Student Association is hosting the 2024 Industrial Engineering Competition.

The Executive Board of the Industrial Engineering Student Association once again held the 2024 Industrial Engineering Competition (CONSTRAIN); the 7th CONSTRAIN Final took place on Friday, February 26, 2023, on the 1st floor of the CS Building at the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering.

The event was officially opened by Hamzah, S.T., M.T., the Student Affairs Manager of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering, who also represented the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who was unable to attend. In addition, the event was attended by the Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Ir. Kifayah Amar, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, along with staff and faculty members from the Department of Industrial Engineering.

Constrain is a program of the Research and Technology Division of the BEM HMTI FTUH. Constrain serves as a platform to enhance students’ analytical skills in finding solutions to problems faced by businesses or companies. This year’s Constrain event featured the theme “Renewable Energy for Green Manufacturing Toward a Sustainable Industry,” focusing on fostering students’ critical thinking and social awareness regarding energy and environmental issues in the industrial sector.

In her report, Sarifah Ariahiyya, chair of the organizing committee for this event, explained that the theme “Renewable Energy for Green Manufacturing Toward a Sustainable Industry” was chosen because, as industrial engineering students, they are concerned about the energy sources currently used in industries and how these sources negatively impact the environment. Therefore, they believe renewable energy is necessary to reduce these negative environmental impacts and support a sustainable industry in the future.

On this occasion, the Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Ir. Kifayah, expressed her gratitude to all parties who attended and contributed to the success of this event, and also congratulated the organizing committee for successfully hosting the event. Ir. Kifayah also congratulated the top six participants who advanced to the final round and expressed her hope that the movement toward renewable energy and the reduction of environmental impacts—which served as the theme of this event—could be realized not only for this event but also in the future.

The Student Affairs Manager also expressed his deepest appreciation to the organizing committee and participants in this event, and hoped that national competitions like this could continue to be held in the future—not only as organizers but also as participants.
