The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University held the opening ceremony for the 2022 New Student Orientation Program (PKKMB)

The event, themed “Building a Resilient Generation with a Maritime Spirit Through Technological Innovation Toward the Society 5.0 Era,” was held in a hybrid format.

The Rector of Hasanuddin University, represented by the Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Sanusi, S.E., MBA., Ph.D., and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muh Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., officially opened the event with a hand scan on a tablet.

Unlike previous years, this year’s PKKMB was attended by 65 new students who participated in the opening ceremony in person, while some new students joined online. The event continued with the recitation of the Integrity Pact by a representative of the new students and the signing of the Integrity Pact, accompanied by the new students’ parents.

This year, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University admitted 1,265 new students, comprising 156 in Civil Engineering, 106 in Mechanical Engineering, 77 in Naval Architecture, 128 in Electrical Engineering, 105 in Architecture, 102 in Geological Engineering, 89 in Industrial Engineering, 63 in Ocean Engineering, 77 in Marine Systems Engineering, 84 in Regional and Urban Planning Engineering, 94 in Mining Engineering, 104 in Computer Engineering, and 80 in Environmental Engineering.

The General Manager of PLN UIW Sulserabar, Mr. Awaluddin Hafid, contributed to the 2022 FT-UH PKKMB by serving as a speaker at the General Lecture via a Zoom virtual meeting.

The PKKMB event concluded with the screening of the video “ANSAMBEL,” a talent showcase featuring new students from the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. The video highlights the diversity of ethnic groups and cultures, demonstrating that these differences do not hinder unity but rather serve as a unifying force that brings together the nation’s diverse characteristics.
