The Unhas Faculty of Engineering team won First Place and the Best Presentation award at the MARS#10 Southeast Paper Competition

On May 6, 2023, a team from the Faculty of Engineering—comprising Aflah Fikri Mahmud (Electrical Engineering ’20), Naufal Syahrid Panrita (Geological Engineering ’20), Syawal Fadrilul Fiqhi (Civil Engineering ’20), Raihan Ainur Ridho Fardhin (Electrical Engineering ’22), and Fathinah Nur Jannah (Computer Science ’22) won First Place and the Best Presentation award at the MARS#10 Southeast Paper Competition held at Yogyakarta State University. The event was attended by more than 120 teams from 33 universities across Southeast Asia. There were several selection stages in this competition, ranging from the submission of abstracts, full papers, and infographics, to in-person presentations. The team from the Unhas Faculty of Engineering proposed an idea regarding the decarbonization of the oil and gas sector through the utilization of new and renewable energy on offshore oil and gas platforms. The team, named IGNITE, was awarded a gold medal, a certificate, and a cash prize. The IGNITE team was advised by Dr. Ir. Zaenab Muslimin, M.T., IPM.
