Through a Guest Lecture and the Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University Establishes a Partnership with PT Celebes Railway Indonesia.
Continuing to expand its network of partnerships, the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University has established a collaboration with PT Celebes Railway Indonesia. This collaboration was formalized with the signing of a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, August 22, 2024, at the Exhibition Hall in the CoT Building, Gowa.
The Cooperation Agreement was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN., and the CEO of PT Celebes Railway, Helmi Adam. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by the Vice Dean for Research Partnerships and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., and CRI’s Director of Operations and Maintenance, Ir. R. Bovanantoo Ruslan.
On this occasion, Prof. Isran expressed his gratitude for PT CRI’s willingness to deliver a guest lecture to the students, noting that the railway sector is still relatively new in Sulawesi. Prof. Isran also hoped that this collaboration would open opportunities for students to participate in internships or be hired as part of PT Celebes Railway.
In his remarks, the CEO of CRI thanked the Faculty of Engineering for the warm welcome and noted that it was an honor to deliver a guest lecture at the Faculty of Engineering. On this occasion, Helmi Adam also delivered a guest lecture explaining the Government-Private Partnership Project for the Makassar–Parepare Public Railway.
This collaboration aims to create synergy between the two parties regarding their potential and key opportunities, particularly in activities related to the three pillars of higher education, the provision of assistance and/or the utilization of expert personnel, exchanging data, information, and knowledge in the field of railways; organizing internships, training sessions, workshops, and joint seminars in the field of railways; and collaborating on guest lectures, student and faculty internships, and academic events (public lectures, seminars, training sessions, etc.).
