UNHAS Faculty of Engineering Partners with Kumamoto University’s GSST to Launch a Master’s-Ph.D. Double Degree Program

The UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, through the Department of Electrical Engineering, in collaboration with the Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST) at Kumamoto University in Japan, is launching a Double Degree Program for students in the Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) programs at both institutions.

This collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Double Degree Program for Master’s and Doctoral programs administered by both institutions. The MoU was signed by the Dean of the UNHAS Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Muhammad Isran Ramli, and the Dean of the GSST at Kumamoto University, Prof. Fujimoto Hitoshi, in a desk-to-desk ceremony. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS took place in the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, and was witnessed by Prof. Mitsuyo Kishida, Ph.D., Deputy Vice President for International Affairs at GSST, Kumamoto University. Also present to accompany the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS were the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS, Ir. Ahmad Amil Ilham, Ph.D.; the Head of the Global Engagement Office (GEO) at the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS, Dr.Eng. Muhammad Niswar; and the Coordinator of the DTE Double Degree Cooperation Program at the Faculty of Engineering, UNHAS, Prof. Syafaruddin.

This Double Degree Cooperation Program will begin in October 2023, whereby students who graduate from the Master’s and Doctoral programs in Electrical Engineering at both institutions will receive degrees from each institution, allowing graduates to earn two degrees simultaneously.
