Unhas’s Faculty of Engineering Establishes a Strategic Partnership with Kurume Institute of Technology in Japan
The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is expanding its international network by establishing an academic and research partnership with the Kurume Institute of Technology (KIT) in Japan. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., and the President of KIT, Sinichi Hino, on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the KIT campus in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Kurume Institute of Technology, founded in 1976, is a leading private university in Japan offering undergraduate and graduate programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, architecture, and materials science.
This collaboration includes student and faculty exchanges, research collaboration in engineering, the organization of symposia, and other forms of cooperation. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas stated that this collaboration is expected to improve the quality of education and research, as well as provide international experience for students and faculty members.
The President of KIT welcomed this collaboration and expressed hope that it would strengthen academic ties between Japan and Indonesia, particularly in the development of technology and innovation in the field of engineering.
