Unhas’s Faculty of Engineering Holds the Grand Finale of Its 65th Anniversary Celebration, Attended by Prominent Figures
Gowa– The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT-UH) successfully held the 65th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Unhas FT Campus in Gowa. This grand celebration carried the theme “Smart Engineering Innovations for a Better Future” and was attended by university leadership, academic figures, and invited guests from various regions.
In attendance were the Rector of Hasanuddin University, the Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Hasanuddin University, the Deans and Associate Deans across Hasanuddin University, as well as leaders from partner institutions, namely the Rector of Krida Wacana Christian University (Ukrida) and the Rector of the B.J. Habibie Institute of Technology (ITH). Also in attendance was the Regent of North Toraja, who offered moral support for the academic collaboration and community service initiatives carried out by the Unhas Faculty of Engineering.
Series of Activities Leading Up to the Anniversary Celebration
This year’s Anniversary Celebration serves as the culmination of a series of events that began in mid-August, including:
- Sports and Arts (August 18, 2025) featuring a Mini Golf Tournament and a singing competition.
- Community Service (August 20, 2025) consisting of free dental checkups, mass circumcisions, and a blood drive for the local community.
- Guest Lecture (August 22, 2025) featuring Dr. Ir. Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga and Ir. Habibie Razak, IPU.
- Mangrove Day (August 24, 2025) at the Maros-Pangkep UNESCO Global Geopark.
- IC-REST 2025 (August 27, 2025), an international conference bringing together academics, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of engineering and science.
Launch of Strategic Programs
As the highlight of the event, the Unhas Faculty of Engineering launched several key programs, including:
- Launch of Vale Corner
- Launch of the Sikatutui App
- Launch of the FT-UH Primary Clinic
- Launch of the Copyright for the Engineering March and Hymn
- Launch of the Engineering Career Center
In addition, the event was held in conjunction with the Ikatek National Coordination Meeting, the Alumni Award, the 09Runners Fun Run, and the Passapeda 09 Fun Bike Ride, which involved the academic community, alumni, and the general public.
Synergy Among Partners and Alumni
This celebration received full support from various strategic partners, including Vale, Bumi Karsa, Pelindo, Telkomsel, BNI, and BKI, as well as a number of national and international companies. This collaboration demonstrates strong synergy between the university, alumni, industry, and the community.
The Dean of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., expressed his gratitude for the success of this year’s anniversary celebration.
“The 65th Anniversary is a valuable moment to reflect on the long journey of the Faculty of Engineering. The presence of university leadership, academic figures, industry partners, and local government officials is proof that the Unhas Faculty of Engineering has a strong network and makes a tangible contribution to the nation,” he said.
