Unhas’s Faculty of Engineering Welcomes 1,618 New Students at the 2025 PKKMB
The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) officially welcomed 1,618 new students during the 2025 Campus Life Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB). This number represents approximately 15% of Unhas’s total new students this year, making the Faculty of Engineering the faculty with the largest number of new students at Unhas.
The opening ceremony took place at the Faculty of Engineering’s Amphitheater and Classrooms in Gowa and was attended by faculty leadership, professors, and representatives from student organizations.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., extended a warm welcome and expressed his appreciation to all new students in his opening remarks. He emphasized the importance of making the most of their time at the university to develop academic competencies, skills, and character as future engineers.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering also introduced the faculty’s top-notch academic and student services, which are upheld in the spirit of MARANNU, meaning good in the Bugis-Makassar language. MARANNU is the service principle at the Faculty of Engineering:

“The MARANNU principle is our compass, which will guide you in every interaction, learning process, and personal development throughout your studies at the Faculty of Engineering,” emphasized Prof. Isran.
The 2025 PKKMB at the Faculty of Engineering carried the theme “Young Hasanuddin: Pillars of Technology Shaping a Sustainable Future”. The event included an introduction to academic programs and campus facilities, as well as a motivational session by the Regent of Gowa, Husniah Talenrang, who shared her experiences and inspiring messages about leadership, hard work, and the role of women as leaders in various fields.
With 1,618 new students enrolled, the Unhas Faculty of Engineering continues to solidify its position as one of the largest engineering faculties in Indonesia, committed to producing graduates ready to compete at both the national and global levels.
