Hasanuddin University’s Faculty of Engineering Hosts the Second UNHAS Engineering Anniversary and Charity Cup Golf Tournament

The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University once again held the 2nd UNHAS Engineering Anniversary Golf Tournament and Charity Cup. Attended in person by the Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., this tournament took place on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Padivalley Golf Club in Gowa.

The opening of the tournament was marked by the first tee shot, which was taken by the Rector of Hasanuddin University; the Vice Rector for Partnerships, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, S.T., M.Phil., the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of South Sulawesi, Dr. Teuku Rahman, S.H., M.H., and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER. Chairman of the South Sulawesi Protestant Church Council (PGI Sulsel), Mr. Yunan Yunus Kadir; Executive Chairman of the Hasanuddin University Golf Association (PGA Unhas), Mr. Azhary Sirajuddin; accompanied by the Associate Deans and golf tournament participants from various backgrounds.

The purpose of this tournament is to raise funds for an endowment. Additionally, the tournament is held to encourage excellence in the sport of golf among the entire academic community of the Faculty of Engineering. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering also explained that the tournament aimed to strengthen ties between the academic community of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering and its alumni and partners—both in government and industry—while simultaneously raising funds for the endowment.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector Prof. Adi expressed his high appreciation for the Faculty of Engineering’s organization of this tournament and thanked the faculty for its longstanding support of achievements of Hasanuddin University. Prof. Adi also explained that this endowment fund consists of donated funds that will be reinvested so that they continue to grow, enabling them to be used to help expand more equitable access to education in Indonesia, such as by providing scholarships to underprivileged students.

The tournament was attended by 125 participants from the general public, alumni, invited guests, and partners of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. This tournament is an annual event organized by the Faculty of Engineering as part of its anniversary celebrations.
