Seeking to Improve Waste Management, the Unhas Faculty of Engineering Conducts a Benchmarking Visit to the UGM Faculty of Engineering
In an effort to improve waste management within the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas, the TPS 3R Team conducted a benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Engineering at Gadjah Mada University. The visit took place on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Multifunction Room 1 on the 3rd floor of the SGLC Building at the UGM Faculty of Engineering.
The benchmarking delegation was accompanied by the Associate Dean for Planning, Resources, and Alumni, Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Rusman, M.T.; Prof. Dr. Ir. Syamsul Bahri, M.Si., IPU, as a faculty member; and the Manager of Campus Infrastructure and Utilities, Dr. Eng. Lukmanul Hakim Arma, ST., MT. Head of the Administrative Division Dra. Rakhmawita, M.M., along with the Assistant Head of the Planning, Resources, and Alumni Section Supriani, ST.
They were welcomed directly by the Associate Dean for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration Ir. Ali Awaludin, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU, ACPE. Accompanied by the Head of the Administrative Office, Doni Agus Wijayanto, S.E., M.M., the benchmarking participants received a presentation on the process of waste treatment, starting from raw waste and transforming it into reusable products such as liquid fertilizer, etc.
In addition to the presentation, the TPS 3R delegation from the Faculty of Engineering was also invited on a field visit to the TPS 3R Grahakara Grafika facility to observe firsthand the waste processing methods at the UGM Faculty of Engineering, along with the equipment used.
In addition to learning about waste management at the UGM Faculty of Engineering, the benchmarking delegation also aimed to gain insight into the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) system in place at the UGM Faculty of Engineering.
