The Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS and the Faculty of Engineering at UNKHAIR Agree to Implement a Research-Based Doctoral Program
Makassar, April 28, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT-UNHAS) and the Faculty of Engineering at Khairun University (FT-UNKHAIR) have officially agreed to implement a collaboration on the Research-Based Doctoral Program. This agreement was discussed during a meeting held in the Dean’s Office at FT-UNHAS.
The meeting focused on reviewing technical documents detailing the program’s implementation, including the activity plan and the division of roles and responsibilities between the two institutions. This initiative represents a strategic step toward strengthening academic collaboration and enhancing the quality of human resources in the field of engineering.
Present at the meeting was the Dean of FT-UNHAS, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER., accompanied by the Associate Dean for Research Partnerships and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER. Also present was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNKHAIR, Ir. Ar. Endah Harisun, S.T., M.T., CRP., IPU., IAI., ASEAN Eng., who was accompanied by the First Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNKHAIR, Dr. Ir. Mukhlis, S.T., M.T., IPP.
Through this collaboration, both parties hope to increase the number of FT-UNKHAIR faculty members holding doctoral degrees. This Research-Based Doctoral Program is expected to provide a strategic opportunity for faculty members to pursue research-based studies, thereby achieving the target of having more than 50% of faculty members hold doctoral degrees.
In addition, this collaboration is also expected to contribute to improving quality and achieving excellent accreditation for every study program within the Faculty of Engineering.
With the implementation of this agreement, the Faculty of Engineering at UNHAS and the Faculty of Engineering at UNKHAIR reaffirm their commitment to strengthening synergy among universities to create a higher education ecosystem that is excellent, collaborative, and globally competitive.
