The Faculty of Engineering at Unhas, in Collaboration with the Makassar Regional IV Construction Services Center, Holds a Level 7 Construction Worker Certification Exam for Recent Graduates
Gowa, February 27, 2025 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), in collaboration with the Construction Services Center, will hold a Level 7 Construction Workforce Certification Exam intended for recent graduates from various engineering programs. This certification exam aims to improve the quality and competence of the construction workforce in Indonesia, while also opening opportunities for graduates to enter the ever-growing construction industry.
The certification exam will be held in May 2025 at the Unhas Faculty of Engineering campus in Makassar. This program is designed to provide additional skills to graduates who wish to deepen their knowledge and abilities in the field of construction. By taking this certification exam, participants are expected to obtain an official certificate recognized by the Construction Services Center, which will certainly be an added advantage when applying for jobs in the construction sector.
Ahmad Nithasi Damopolii, ST., M.Eng., Head of the General and Administrative Affairs Subdivision/PPK at the Makassar Construction Services Center (Region VI), stated, “We hope for the Faculty of Engineering’s support through this collaboration so that students—and graduates—of the Unhas Faculty of Engineering can participate in this program, enabling them to not only receive a degree but also obtain a certification that will help them secure employment in the construction sector.”
The Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni at the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER, noted in his remarks that the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University is ready to facilitate this initiative and will encourage students and alumni to take the certification exam.
This Level 7 certification exam will assess more in-depth technical skills in the field of construction, including project management, civil engineering, and safety and quality management in project implementation. The exam consists of theoretical and practical tests designed to measure the extent of participants’ ability to tackle real-world challenges in the construction industry.
This certification is expected to serve as a crucial step for recent graduates in preparing themselves to face the challenges of the construction industry. In addition to the theoretical exam, participants will also be tested on their practical skills in addressing various construction issues that arise on-site.
Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and the Makassar Regional Construction Services Center (Balai Jasa Konstruksi Wilayah IV Makassar) hope to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of the construction workforce in Indonesia, while also opening up broader opportunities for graduates to pursue careers in the construction sector.
