Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University Welcomes Delegation from Okayama University, Japan to Explore Academic Collaboration
Makassar, July 10, 2025 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT-UH) had the honor of receiving a delegation from Okayama University, Japan, to explore avenues for international collaboration in higher education, research, and global human resource development. The visit was part of the Study in Japan Global Network Project, an initiative supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and coordinated through the Japan Educational Information Center (JEIC).
The delegation was led by Prof. Takayoshi Suzuki, Vice-President for International Affairs and Alumni and Director of the Institute of Global Human Resource Development at Okayama University. He was accompanied by Mr. Yusuke Nii, Director and Study in Japan Coordinator for the ASEAN Regional Office in Bangkok, and Ms. Kaori Yajima, Study in Japan Coordinator for Indonesia.
Prior to the formal discussion session, the delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER, at the Dean’s Office. Also present during the audience were the Vice Deans of the Faculty: Prof. Amil Ahmad Ilham (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs), Dr. M. Rusman (Vice Dean for Planning, Resources, and Alumni), Prof. Rustan Tarakka (Vice Dean for Partnership, Research, and Innovation), along with Dr. Syahid Arsyad, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The formal discussion continued in the Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Center of Technology (CoT) Building, and involved Heads and Secretaries of Departments from across the Faculty. The meeting fostered a warm and productive atmosphere, with key topics including the promotion of graduate study opportunities in Japan, potential joint research and co-supervision schemes between faculty members and students, and academic exchange programs through international mobility initiatives.
