In Collaboration with Airport Authorities, the Faculty of Engineering Hosts “Aviation Back to Campus” Guest Lecture
The Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering once again hosted a guest lecture. This guest lecture was delivered by the Head of the South Sulawesi Region V Airport Authority, Dr. Asri Santosa, S.T., S.IT., M.T. Titled “Aviation Back to Campus,” the lecture discussed how the aviation industry operates and how engineering knowledge can be applied in the aviation sector.
Held in Lecture Theater 1 of the CSA Building, the lecture was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, S.T., M.T., IPM., AER. It was also attended by the Associate Dean for Partnerships, Research, and Innovation, Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., M.T., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., along with nearly 100 engineering students from various engineering departments.
On this occasion, Prof. Isran, in his capacity as dean, introduced the public services available at the FTUH to the students and guests in his opening remarks. The Faculty of Engineering is committed to continuously improving its excellent service for the entire community, both on and off campus.
Meanwhile, Dr. Asri Santosa noted in his remarks that in addition to introducing the aviation industry and its relationship with engineering, this event also aimed to explore potential collaborations between the Airport Authority and the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering. One such initiative is the planned construction of an aviation school in South Sulawesi.
These collaboration plans also served as the basis for the signing of a Cooperation Agreement, which took place as part of the guest lecture series. The agreement was signed directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Head of the Region V Airport Authority.
The objective of this collaboration is to enhance the synergy of the resources possessed by both parties to realize their respective visions and missions. In addition, the collaboration aims to advance the implementation of the three pillars of higher education, such as enhancing research collaboration for faculty and students, facilitating internships through the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” program, strengthening community service initiatives, and developing the capabilities of faculty and students across various fields.
This collaboration involves the Mechanical Engineering Program, the Industrial Engineering Program, the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Program, the Electrical Engineering Program, the Computer Engineering Program, the Civil Engineering Program, the Environmental Engineering Program, the Architecture Program, the Urban and Regional Planning Program, the Naval Architecture Program, the Ocean Engineering Program, the Marine Systems Engineering Program, the Geological Engineering Program, and the Mining Engineering Program.
